MEET THE FOUNDER

Louis Volpe was no stranger to the great outdoors. A seasoned entrepreneur with a focus on wellness, he had already built successful businesses around quality coffee, CBD, and hydration products. These were more than just commodities; they were essentials that Louis himself relied on during his hiking and camping adventures. Louis's interest in wellness extended to agriculture, specifically hemp cultivation. On his farm, he grew hemp and became well-versed in its properties. Through research and firsthand experience, he discovered that hemp fiber is 10 times stronger than any material used in industrial applications. This knowledge would soon find an unexpected but impactful application.

Louis was introduced to Pickleball by Nicaylen Rayasa, who would later become APS's Marketing Director. Nicaylen's parents, former tennis enthusiasts, had switched to Pickleball and invited Louis to join them at a local court in Redding, California. Louis was immediately struck by the sport's broad appeal. It was a game that he could enjoy with both Nicaylen, who was in his 30s, and his parents, who were in their 60s. The inclusivity of Pickleball resonated with him, and he began participating in local tournaments and engaging with the Redding pickleball community. As he became more involved in the sport, Louis saw an opportunity to contribute. He noticed that while Pickleball was growing in popularity, there was a gap in the market for high-quality, sustainable equipment.

Drawing upon his background in hemp cultivation and product development, Louis had an idea: Why not create a Pickleball paddle reinforced with hemp fibers? The concept was rooted in practicality. Louis knew that the strength of hemp fibers could significantly enhance the durability and performance of a paddle. By combining hemp fibers with modern carbon technology, he could create a product that was not only superior in quality but also environmentally sustainable. In 2022, Louis's vision materialized as Advanced Pickleball Solutions (APS). But APS was more than just a paddle manufacturer. Louis used his expertise to develop a comprehensive range of products aimed at enhancing the Pickleball experience. From gear to wellness products, APS offered solutions that were in line with Louis's commitment to quality and holistic well-being.

For Louis, APS was a culmination of his diverse interests and skills—from outdoor adventures and wellness to sustainable agriculture. It was a business venture, certainly, but also a way to enrich a community he had grown to love.
